Special Paper (Local History): Indigenous Technology in West Africa in the 20th Century

This course provides a comprehensive exploration of the development, transformation, and resilience of indigenous technologies in West Africa during the 20th century. It examines how local communities created, adapted, and sustained technological systems rooted in their cultural, environmental, and socio-economic realities. The course traces technological continuity from precolonial foundations while analyzing how colonial rule, globalization, and post-independence policies shaped the trajectory of indigenous innovations.

The course is a session long one with C.A and Exam in the Rain semester of 2025/2026 academic session.
