As the course progresses, students study English Renaissance drama through the works of Shakespeare, followed by an exploration of modern and contemporary drama from different global regions. This includes a survey of influential movements such as realism and absurdism and close readings of plays by writers like Anton Chekhov, Samuel Beckett, Ola Rotimi, Doyin Aguoru, and Isiaka Aliagan.
